Nicholas Horgan
I grew up in a part pre-war and mostly post-war family, in a small town on the rich fertile plains out just below the northern tip of New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Five of us joined our two pre-war siblings as soon as Dad returned from galivanting around Europe in the second world war!
As a keen outdoor and sports enthusiast, I always tried to be competitive at rugby union, skydiving, golf and jet boating.
In 1986, I moved to Australia and lived in Melbourne and Sydney, but finally decided to move to Brisbane where I met my wife, Sue. Two dogs managed to join us and are treated like children!
The call of NZ is still very strong and each year I return to New Zealand for several weeks to fish for whitebait.
After working for most of my life on both sides of the Tasman in the baking industry, I took early retirement to spend more time on a range of interests including woodworking, gardening, reading and of course writing.
Having been fortunate enough to have widely travelled, both before and after I moved to Australia, has been a huge bonus. As a result of that travel, I have gathered a wealth of humorous stories, many of which form the basis of my new fiction series of books, the first planned for release in mid 2018.
An avid reader, my favourite authors include James Lee Burke, Lee Child, 'early' Wilbur Smith, Nelson DeMille, James Paterson and John Marsden.

I am currently working on the fiction adventure series with a central character and my goal is to have the first book out in September 2018.
